Track Name: Saturday Night
Here comes the weekend, it's Saturday night
She's doin' her hair makin' sure it's right.
She puts on some makeup and some tight blue jeans
She's lookin' like a southern beauty queen.

He don't have to be handsome but he's gotta be true
And bring home a paycheck and have a big smile too.

John was a soldier, home from Iraq
Some days he though he'd never make it back.
He told the parish priest he shot three men
If they weren't Iraqi's they might have been friends.

He puts on some jeans and a big wide brimmed hat.
He looks like a cowboy, but it's mostly an act
To impress all the girls that he meets at the club
Instead of a horse, he drives a big souped up truck.

It's another Saturday night and the boy's goin' out on the town
He's gonna meet his best friend, they'll pour a few cold ones down.
Saturday night is the time for fun when Texas boys go lookin' for love...
Lookin' for love.

There's some lonely cowboys on Saturday night
And there's some lonely cowgirls on Saturday night.

She's gonna meet her girlfriends...spend a little money
Drink some margaritas and act a little funny
She may never find true love, but she'll have herself a real good time.

There's some lonely cowgirls on Saturday night
There's some lonely cowgirls on Saturday night.
Track Name: Like a Stone - alt.
The day my father died
He only had fifty dollars in the bank.
He left us an old Ford car
With a hole in the gas tank
Mama had hope for the future
But her hope chest sank
Like a stone

I was thirteen
And the youngest was three.
Mama had six hungry young
Mouths to feed
We were caught in the iron grip
Of hard-assed paverty
Hard as stone.

My family held their heads high
In the years gone past
Now a kid at school
Called my brother white trash.
My brother told him to go f*ck off
But he kicked my brother's ass
All the way home.

Man always thinks
He's the master of his fate.
He never sees the error of his ways
Until it's too late.
They were drinking champagne on the Titanic
The day it hit ice
And sank like a stone.

Track Name: She's Alright with Me
She's got a crooked smile upon her face
Her mousy hair won't stay in place
Her mind is off in outer space,
But she's alright with me.

She makes the silliest funny faces
She plays the clown in all the wrong places
But the way she moves my heart just race
She takes my breath away.

Her skin's just like peaches and cream
She's sweeter than a bowl of ice cream
Pinch me I think I must be dreamin'
She takes my breath away.

We go walkin' in the moonlight
Stretch out on the sand
We listen to the waves go crashing on the shore
I'm such a lucky man
I'm such a lucky man
Yes, I am.
Track Name: Another Shot
I wish that I
Had a dollar for
Every time
I saw my father pour
Another shot
Of cheap whiskey
One more shot

My mother cries
Every time she thinks
About how much
We saw my father drink
One more shot
Of cheap whiskey
Another shot

"Sweet whiskey won't you take away my pain!"
We heard my father sing.

My mother always wanted a better life for all of us children
She always kept a smile upon her face
She baked pies for pop's restaurant every day.

Now she works all night in a dirty cold factory
Packin' fish 'til seven, gets home after eight
She packs fish all night, gets home at eight.

My father used to own a little restaurant
Where all the locals stopped to have their lunch
One day a big McDonalds moved into town
Six months later pop had to shut the restaurant down.

My mother used to make us breakfast
Bacon and eggs on the plate
Now she works the overnight
Packs fish til seven, gets home at eight.

Last night she was so tired she forgot to say grace.
Track Name: Another Day in Paradise
When Tyler was 19 he decided to get married
The baby was 3, Sue was 18, just barely.
Sue found a job and put the baby in daycare.
If Tyler held a job for a week, it was rare.

It's just another day in Paradise, Texas
Susan wakes up and fixes some breakfast.
Ty washes up and puts his big hat on,
Laces his boots up while Sue keeps the eggs warm.

That big prairie wind just keeps on blowin
The big 18 wheelers just keep on rollin'
That river of blood just keeps on flowin'

Tyler met this guy who worked nights at the local bar
Tyler was impressed by his flashy new sports car.
The man said "Hey Tyler, you can make easy money"
"I can see you've got brains. No, I'm not being funny."

Tyler cooked up speed late at night in the basement
Blacked out the windows to keep all the light in.
Late one night when the whole house was sleeping,
A burner tipped over and the fire began creeping.

That big prairie wind just keeps on blowin'
The big 18 wheelers just keep on rollin'
That big yellow corn will soon be growin'
That river of blood just keeps on flowin'
(They can't never wash that blood away).

It's just another day in a jailhouse in Texas
The door slams open and they shove in his breakfast.
Tyler thinks of Sue and their beautiful child,
Covers his head with a pillow and cries.

Track Name: Little Easy - alt.
Marsha's on amphetamines
Little teenage drama queen
She dreams of moving to Hollywood
To star upon the silver screen.

Jennie wants some cocaine.
Richie's gonna try to score.
They're cruisin' down the parkway,
A summer weekend at the shore.

Julie's father owns a bank.
Her boyfriend drives an army tank.
His name is tatooed on her arm.
She prays he won't come to any harm.

Mollie knows just what she wants.
She ain't her mother's debutante.
She dropped out of high school
To work at a fast food restaurant.

Robert works at a gas station
He won't get no summer vacation.
His mother couldn't pay her bills
She overdosed on sleeping pills.

Lisa lounges at the pool
She's tan and blond and oh so cool.
She did a line in her boyfriend's car
Felt just like a movie star
Track Name: You're So Apathetic (Girl)
We're killing the forests and streams
But you're so apathetic
There's not enough to eat
For a large proportion of the planet
When we destroy the earth we destroy ourselves
But still you don't seem to get it
If climate change is real
We're surely going to regret it

You're silicone inflated
But your looks are over-rated
You can afford to buy all the finest things
But you're lonely and frustrated
When you look back on your life one day
You'll see its all been wasted.

A child is begging in the street
But you just shake your head
Her little baby brother has a piece of cardboard
For a bed

They piss and shit by the side of the road
In broad daylight
There's no clean running water
Or a toilet in sight

We're poisoning our seas
But you're so apathetic
There's not enough to eat
For a large proportion
Of the planet

Those expensive designer heels
Only make you look pathetic
If you go and break your leg girl
You surely will regret it.
